Does God Love Us 225?

Monday Devotions at Woven Beautiful

Verse of Reflection:

“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

~ Psalm 136:26

My son is eager to learn about the world around him and has always been one to ask lots of questions. The questions He asks about God and Jesus are my favorite.

We talk about how God is big and how He loves us very much. So, my curious little boy puts together big numbers, and with great enthusiasm tries to guess just how much God loves us.

“Mom, does God love us 225? 137? 568?…”

As he guesses numbers, I tell him that God loves us so much more than a number. He grins and the wheels turn in his 4-year-old mind as he tries to comprehend how God can love us even more than the biggest number he can come up with.

My boy is full of wonder about things like how much God loves us. How often as adults do we lose that wonder? Another candle is added to the cake each year, but age doesn’t mean we have to abandon a childlike heart. God’s love for us is far greater than our human minds can comprehend, and that is something to forever ponder. His love casts out fear, calms anxiety, pours out peace, heals the hurts, refreshes the soul, and restores hope.

In the midst of the responsibilities, appointments, and schedules that we juggle, it’s a breath of fresh air to pause and soak in God’s infinite love which has no limits.

Does God Love Us 225

Dear Father, thank you for Your infinite love that is always available to us. Restore in us childlike hearts that are in wonder of You and Your goodness. As we journey through this new week, give us ears to hear and eyes to see glimpses of Your powerful love. And teach us to extend that love to everyone we cross paths with, so that they may too, know Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
